MY COFFEE ANGEL

Over the past two weeks, its been really hectic at my house.
Anytime one parent is ill, everything gets all dis-com-boob-a-lated.
My trips back and forth to the doctor and hospital are necessary, but my body is used to the regular routine. Thank God and all of my guardian angels, that my hubby is just suffering from a very common thing....the dreaded Kidney Stone! We are just rookies I guess and had know idea that you could have so much pain and suffering from one teensy, weensy, little calcium deposit!!

AnyWho....during one of my trips to the ER, I was really, literally running on empty. I hate being in hospitals to begin with and felt terribly drained. I thought that unless I get out, I will have nothing left. I must have had some look of dread on my face when I was approached by a nice older woman. She had in her hands the most wonderful sight.....a steaming, HOT, cup of coffee. It was just what I needed and didn't think of it myself. She slowly walked up to me and offered me the cup. Now don't think I'm nuts or anything, I nodded and said in a very nice tone, NO Thank you. C'mon, I was told never, ever, never take anything to eat or drink from strangers! But, in some way, I realized it was my guardian angel telling me to go ahead, treat yourself to a cup. You deserve it honey....so I headed to the hospital cafe where I found an amazing assortment of fresh brewed delights. The painting shown here is my tribute to MY COFFEE ANGEL....hope you enjoy her!

Art, Basquiat
Just finished...I mean, fresh off the easel people, a really interesting and amazing creation. It kinda just flew out of me and I started it and just couldn't stop....well, I didn't want to stop.

I have always loved, raw and inspirational, street type art. I haven't created a new painting in this kinda style in about a year and I guess it was building up inside me....so here it is:

I have listed it for sale on Ebay. Here is the link:
THE DECISION IS HIS

If you love it, or if you don't, I would love to hear a comment or two....
Thanks for your interest in my work...I had fun!

Well, All I Got Was A Rock....I mean a Stone!........

Well, as if the two snowstorms, one being a blizzard, in one week wasn't enough excitement around here. My poor hubby has back problems as some of you know. He is a man and if you know men, they are kinda, well sorta, stubborn. Out he went into the snow, shovel in hand and my son right behind him. This wasn't the fluffy, blowing kind of snow, but the heavy, wet, you can make the bestest snowman in the world kind of snow! Boy, is it heavy.

They finished shoveling came inside and I warmed them up with a hot, steamy bowl of chicken soup and a cup of hot cocoa...with marshmallows of course.  All was right with the world.  A beautiful scene just like a Currier & Ives calendar from the 50's, right outside our window. The power was working, so we were super cozy and I had picked up three dvd's, as a just in case we get snowed in precaution.

Its 4am......the sounds of moaning and pain coming from the upstairs bathroom. I go quickly to check and there is the sorta stubborn hubby standing slumped over. He thinks he must have pulled "something" while shoveling.........he explains the pain and we both say in unison.....I don't think its the back this time.

Wake up the kids to help clean off the truck, now that about 7 inches of snow has fallen since the shoveling outing. Off we go in slush, ice and snow to the Emergency Room. I am not the most confident of drivers in ice and snow and wanted to call 911, but was convinced that I could make the drive safely. Thank God we did and I know for sure that my angels guided us all the way.

You have a Kidney Stone!! Oh, what fun we thought. What is that? How do I get rid of it? Well, for all of you out there who have ever experienced this fun first hand or have been with someone you  love experiencing this fun, you know it just isn't FUN. The doctor pretty much described the "fun" to my hubby as Male Labor....but without the bouncing baby at the end.....just a ROCK!

We heard all of the jokes. And with it being so close to Valentine's Day, the nurses were telling my husband to save the stone and mount it in a nice setting. With the hospital costs being what they are today, it will probably cost MORE than a 1 carat diamond ring!
Just thought I would share my last two days....oh, I forgot to mention..the kids had NO school either. Between visits to the ER, doctors office, pharmacy, they were waiting at 10pm last night to ask me: What's For Dinner????

Wish me luck today....they did admit the poor man and I hope I can get him home today.....
Love,
T

Bracing Ourselves For a HUGE Snowstorm........

Boy, oh boy are we supposed to get it....the kids are not too excited about a Friday into Saturday snowstorm. No possibility of a day off from school.

We are expected to be getting anywhere from 8 to 14 inches of snow with winds around 40mph. Now doesn't that sound fun? I know that I will be shoveling, drinking my hot cocoa and hopefully getting some painting done. I love to paint when the calm sounds of little flakes are falling outside.....but with winds of 40-50mph.....I don't know how tranquil that will be!

Please post here with where you live and what the weather for the weekend is supposed to be by you. I love to here about where you guys live.......

I will post before and after photos here tomorrow.......

Stay cozy and warm.....
Love,
T
